HEALING NIGERIA TRAUMA: THE CHALLENGES AHEAD

Nigeria faces a growing mental health crisis, fueled by widespread trauma from conflict, displacement, poverty, gender-based violence, and systemic instability.

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 1 in 4 Nigerians experience some form of mental illness, yet fewer than 10% receive adequate treatment. Trauma not only affects individuals’ well-being but also limits economic productivity, education, and family stability.

Trauma is an invisible epidemic in Nigeria. From the various inter-tribal wars, to the past Civil War, from Boko Haram violence in the North East to oil conflict in the South South, ethnic clashes in the Middle Belt, Unknown Gunmen in the South East, Kidnapping, and urban poverty in our various Cities in Nigeria. Millions suffer PTSD, Fear, anxiety, and depression, also from heightened domestic violence, without access to quality and effective therapy. Nigeria lacks a national trauma intervention framework, and stigma around mental health persists according to WHO.

I am proposing a “Healing Nigeria Of Trauma” Project, that proposes a scalable trauma therapy intervention across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones (North Central, North East, North West, South East, South South, and South West). Its aim is to train local emotional trauma resolution practitioners in Energy Therapy, establish trauma healing centers, and provide culturally adapted, community-based therapeutic services that focusses on drugless Energy Health Practice.

I have the details of what should be done, how it will be done and the expected outcomes. If you have the capacity to help actualize this, either as an individual, group or Organization or Government, I will be glad to take the discussion further. Nigeria needs help and I am glad to help bring this about.
